To close out the week, I thought it'd be best to share two of my favorite posts. As with the other "Archive Diving" posts, the idea here is to let those who are new to Wezen-Ball see some of what we have to offer. What better way, then, than to show the ones I like best.
The first is one that I've linked back to a few times. I wrote it back in February, when the A-Rod steroids stuff broke out. But don't worry, you can ignore that whole part of it if you'd like. The post, after all, is focused on the series of Peanuts strips that were released in 1973, when Snoopy was challenging Babe Ruth's home run record. It's a fantastic look at everything that Hank had to go through at the time. If you haven't already, go take a look at A-Rod, Aaron, & Snoopy.
The other post is this look back at the 1992 Springfield Nuclear Power Plant All-Stars. If one were to really have put together the all-star softball team back in '92 that Mr. Burns assembled in the classic Simpsons episode, what would people have said about it? Was it truly as good as Mr. Burns' handlers told him? See what they were saying in Talkin' Homer, Ozzie, and the Straw.
Enjoy, and I promise to have more new content next week.
